Tougher for GMs in Wales

Wales’ Rural Affairs Minister, Elin Jones, has announced that, unlike in England, any farmers who grow GM crops in Wales will have to sign up to a register that will be fully accessible to the public. This was requested by Friends of the Earth Cymru in its response to the Welsh Assembly Government’s consultation on a GM co-existence regime and is a part of the very restrictive policy on GMs being developed in Wales
