What we do
About us
Friends of the Earth is the world’s most extensive grassroots network working for environmental justice – that means ensuring a fair share for everyone now and in the future while looking after our planet.
It has almost one million supporters across five continents and over 60 national organisations worldwide. It is dependent on individuals for over 90 per cent of its income, so retaining its independent voice.
In the UK it is the most influential national environmental campaigning organisation with a unique network of campaigning local groups, working in over 200 communities throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Pembrokeshire Friends of the Earth is one of these local groups.
Our Aims
The primary aim of Friends of the Earth is a world that meets everyone’s needs in a way that values our quality of life and safeguards the future of the environment.
We campaign to stop the rapid exploitation of the Earth’s resources and the pollution of the planet.
We demand a just world that controls exploitation and ensures that rich countries pay a fair price for what they use.
From local, to national, to international, we work to put people and the planet first.
To achieve these goals we look to inspire solutions to environmental problems.
Our Methods
Friends of the Earth achieves its objectives in three ways. By
providing information and ideas – investing in research, so that we can provide the insight to help everyone make informed choices;
encouraging action – mobilising and inspiring people to become environmentally aware and support our agenda
political campaigning – democratically pressuring and persuading key political and business decision-makers to act on our campaign priorities. This way we can bring about changes to legislation and corporate policy.
